CAAFLU was established in 2000 and incorporated in 2007 under the Corporations (Aboriginal & Torres Strait islander) Act 2006 and is registered with the Office of the Registrar of Aboriginal Corporations.
CAAFLU is one of 14 Family Violence Prevention Legal Services across Australia and is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
CAAFLU ensures independence as well as communiy representation and consultation through an elected Board of Directors.
